Skoda Superb

The Skoda Superb was mentioned in the "2014 Midsize segment sales in Europe" article as the 3rd best selling car in his category. For this reason, here is some information about it:

The Skoda Superb is using Volkswagens MQB platform and it's basically a stretched Volkswagen Passat. In China, the demand for long wheelbase vehicles is present in the mid sized cars, such as Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3-Series, Volkswagen Passat etc., compared to other countries where the full sized luxury vehicles are available with this feature. So, when Skoda launched it's first generational Superb in 2001, it was based on the Chinese marketed Passat L (Long), which was 10 cm (3.9 in) longer then the base version.

The third generation (2015 - present) Superb is utilising the MQB platform and it was announced in February 2015 in time for the Geneva Motor Show, with volume production intended to start in the middle of the year. Vehicles are larger than the second generation (length 4861 mm, width 1864 mm, wheelbase 2841 mm).

The new generation of direct injection turbocharged engines consisting of 4 cylinder units, was to include five petrol engines ranging in size from 1.4 to 2.0 L, and three diesels of 1.6 or 2.0 L. For the most powerful engine 2.0 TSI 4x4 276 HP counts with a maximum speed of 250 km/h and an acceleration of 0-100 km per 5.8 seconds. Dealer deliveries of the liftback began in June 2015 with the estate following in September.
