The most unreliable engine turned out to be from MG Rover, in which from 13 engines 1 was faulty. The second place goes to the Audi, with a 27 to 1 ratio. The Mini is in third place, which achieved a 40 to 1 ratio, but it's mother company (BMW) isn't much better at all, they're ratio is 45 to 1.

The Japanese cars good reputation remained untouched in this survey; Honda achieved a 344 to 1 engine failure ratio, which means that there is a 10 times smaller chance to broke down then with an Audi. In second place is the Toyota, with a 171 to 1 ratio and the third place goes to Mercedes-Benz, which achieved 119 to 1.
