In the new, third generational Nissan Navara NP-300 the outgoing 2.5 L turbo diesel engine is replaced with a new, 2.3 L 4 cylinder turbo diesel, with a power output of 160 or 190 HP (the 190 HP version is equipped with two turbochargers). The developer claims that it's 24% more efficient compared to it's predecessor. A 6 speed manual gearbox comes as standard and a 7 speed automatic is optional. Two and four door versions are both available with two or four wheel drive.
This new model gets a re-designed rear suspension. Double cab (four door) versions get a multi link rear suspention because Nissan noticed that the pick up must handle the same with or without load on the bed. King cab (two door) models remained almost unchanged, in this case we can find leaf springs in the rear, but the main difference compared to the earlier generational model is that it's more improved; it's 7 kg ligher and more silent.
